At the hearing for rezoning land next to the dumps many local residents stated many facts that true. What I wonder about is WHY do people continue to live there if it is so dangerous to their selfs,children,and grandchilldren.????? Many state they live there 20/30/40/50 years and /or recently purchased there WHY ???? Why do they CONTINUE to put their children and grandchildren at risk on a DAILY basis ??? Why do they allow their children/grandchildren walk down the DANGEROUS street to visit others????? Most if not all of the hazards they talk about has existed for 20/30/40/50 years or more. particulary on Yaphank ave. which is a DIRECT ENTRANCE ONTO SUNRISE HIGHWAY ???? Why do they wantonly continue to put their children/grandchildren/family in this DANGER ???? It is theis obligation FIRST to keep their loved ones [and others] out of danger.There is NO reason for them to have lived/bought/built etc. there if it is so dangerous/hazardous/undesirable.WHY ARE THEY THERE???? putting their familys at risk?????? there is no justification for continueing putting their familys at risk, NOT MONEY NOT TRADITION NOT UNAWARE OF THE FACTS ETC. This has nothing to do with what the Town but with the People who are putting their familys at risk and CONTINUE to do so. WAKE UP PEOPLE.
