Hello, I just moved to Jupiter and looking to start a band, or find a band that is a good fit. About me: Late 30's, family man, recently moved back to Florida from abroad. I played in reggae and Afrobeat bands abroad, and played in a North Florida jam band for a bit as well. I play piano/organ mostly. I play a bunch of NoLa 60s RnB and Funk (Dr John, professor longhair, the Meters etc), but I am a huge fan of Reggae music that is strong on keyboard/organ sounds. In Reggae, my influences are from old school reggae keyboardists (ie Jackie Mittoo) to contemporary ones who keep the tradition alive (ie Roger Rivas from the Aggrolites). So I am looking to either start a band that will incorporate lots of old school organ sounds, or join one that does. I am also a big fan of harmonies and backing vocals. I am not a great singer, but can do backing vocals and can take the lead in songs that fit my voice. Looking to go the distance with this, so I do want to work on originals, cover old classics, and of course play live shows. Happy to discuss more if anyone is interested.
