POSITION SUMMARY: Under the supervision of the Facilities Director, the incumbent will maintain YMCA facilities, equipment and property in a safe and clean manner, with equipment in proper working order to enhance the Association's membership retention efforts. PRINCIPAL ACTIVITIES: •Support the mission, vision and goals of the Ann Arbor YMCA; promote character development and the values of caring, honesty, respect and responsibility by modeling appropriate behavior. •Understand the impact of facilities, grounds, and equipment on the delivery of YMCA programs and services to members. •Possess the skills of a handyman for the facility, performing routine maintenance and repairs on the building, grounds, and equipment such as doors, windows, pool equipment, furniture, and exercise equipment. •Advise the Facilities Director of conditions which affect the safety, condition, or attractiveness of the facilities, equipment and grounds. •Attend required trainings. •Provide weekly inventory reports to ensure necessary levels of custodial, pool chemicals, and other supplies on hand. •Assist the Facilities Director with the outside contractors and vendors that are doing work in the building and on the grounds. •Read and respond to all YMCA communications daily. •Maintain positive relationships with staff and members in a child friendly environment Re-Opening/C-19 Overview The Ann Arbor YMCA will abide by, to the best of our ability, guidelines and restrictions provided by the Centers for Disease Control & Prevention (CDC) so members and staff are as safe as possible while they are at any YMCA facility or in an YMCA program. The reopening process will be a phased approach that will grow gradually as the environment continues to become safer. Join us and help transform lives. KNOW HOW: 1.A high school diploma or its equivalency is required. 2.6 months to 1 year experience in facility, maintenance, or property related field is required. 3.Must hold current driver's license. 4.Experience working with people from a diverse range of backgrounds is preferred. 5.Multi-lingual ability is preferred. 6. Must authorize criminal history background check, and be forthcoming about any existing misdemeanor or felony charges that may arise as result. 7. Must successfully pass Child Abuse Prevention background check. Full job description and hiring range is available upon request.
