COMPANY SUMMARY American Dry Stripping and Powder Coating (ADS) is a surface preparation and surface finishing company located in Milford, CT. In business over 35 years ADS is a third party outsourced abrasive blasting, powder coating and ceramic coating services provider to manufacturing, construction, fabrication and other trade industries and also includes a business to consumer market segment component. HIRING OBJECTIVE ADS is looking to fill an immediate FULL TIME ENTRY LEVEL position. This position is a long-term opportunity for the right candidate. POSITION DESCRIPTION AND DAILY RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE - PLEASE READ CAREFULLY The successful candidate will work closely with and be trained by Master Blast personnel while reporting directly to the Production Manager. The successful candidate must have a strong work ethic, ability to learn, think about tasks at hand and a focus on quality workmanship. Perform all shop related tasks necessary to successfully complete incoming jobs as described. • Operation of blasting booth, cabinets or both • Scrape and clean surfaces of contamination in preparation abrasive-blasting • Reloading of abrasives into machine hopper • Preparation of work product by masking, taping and other means to protect from abrading action • Loading and unloading of customer work product • Learn and develop understanding of blasting techniques • Examination of finished parts to ensure conformance to specifications and quality control • Maintain and conform to safe work procedures according to prescribed protocol • Maintain proper housekeeping and keep all workspaces neat and clean • Maintain safe conditions by following guidelines and procedures for handling of all equipment and completed work-product POSITION AND PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS • Previous booth blasting and or manufacturing setting experience preferred • Aptitude for and MOTIVATION to learn and take direction • MUST BE: o Responsible, reliable, dependable, punctual o Honest and trustworthy o Possess shop environment common sense o Able to work as a member of a team and working alone o Must be able to stand for long periods of time. o Lifting or moving materials/parts over 75 pounds o Ability to operate a manual blasting hose for the scheduled shift o Must be able to tolerate wearing PPE, such as hearing protection, respirators, safety glasses and full body blast suit. OTHER SKILLS/ABILITIES/REQUIREMENTS • Minimum education is high school diploma or GED equivalent • All qualified applicants must be able to: o Pass a criminal background check o Pass a drug test o Be available for overtime if needed o Have own dependable transportation BE SURE TO INCLUDE A WORK HISTORY AND REFERENCES WITH YOUR RESPONSE.
