Which one of the city brainiacs succumbed to the “elite” homeowners along Drake Park and now require permits to park on side streets facing the park? For years, these same “elites” tried to shut down events in the park to prevent the public from enjoying this community park. As a 30-year resident, this permit requirement is excessive and too restrictive to Bend residents and Bend visitors. Parking around the park is bad enough without “elites” and narrow-minded city officials creating a more difficult and unacceptable alternative. Help me fight this travesty with the city and Parks & Recs.
