Immediate opportunity for a fish cutter/general laborer at high profile SE Alaskan fishing lodge! The Highliner Lodge is a thriving and ambitious fishing lodge. As an expanding business we are always looking for motivated, honest, hardworking and talented individuals. The lodge is located in the remote fishing village of Pelican ("Closest to the fish!") This is an entry level position into the Alaska charter fishing business, with opportunities to advance and establish a long term position within our growing company. General Responsibilities: -Assist with work on boats, lodge, or various properties (including sanding, prepping, painting, cleaning, loading, organizing, preparing, etc.) -Greet boats and cart fish to lodge -Fillet, vacuum pack, freeze, ship and keep records of all fish caught by guests -Clean fish room, guest rain gear, and dump fish carcasses daily -Assist with some carpentry, construction, boat, and lodge maintenance work -Occasionally, assist captains as their deckhand on charter or commercial boats You must be able to help out in any capacity required to make the lodge run smoothly! *On season work is approximately 12 hours per day, 7 days per week. You may be required to work more, or less, as necessary. Job Requirements: -Organized, clean, efficient, and attention for detail -Knife skills are a plus -Able to follow precise direction -Able to work independently -Able to clearly communicate with coworkers and managers -Able to complete tasks -Outgoing and courteous with clients and staff -Able to lift 60 lbs and in good physical condition -Be drug free, able to pass a drug test, and willing to take a drug test at any time -Be a light or non-drinker -Able to live and work in a close/shared/communal environment with co-workers -Exceptional references -Previous experience cutting fish or operating a vacuum sealer is a plus Additional Requirements: -We expect superior performance from our employees, in personal hygiene, professional contact with our customers and relations with other employees. The most important factors that we look for when hiring a person is a good attitude and a strong work ethic. If you aren't willing to put in long hours, this is not the place for you. We expect good manners, good grooming and a professional appearance above reproach.
