Join us to explore service-learning projects you can conduct with your students! Teaching stewardship requires local relevancy, and the San Antonio River is a critical local resource that needs everyone to Be River Proud. This FREE workshop provides the tools and understanding necessary for students to create actions on their campus that lead to healthy creeks and rivers. Eligibility: This opportunity is FREE and open to K-12 school educators in Bexar, Wilson, Karnes, and Goliad Counties. Teachers are eligible to receive 3 hours of SBEC Credit. Kayaking opportunity! Teachers that attend this workshop are then eligible for a kayaking activity the next day. August 4. Upon registering you will recieve a link to register for day 2 kayaking opportunity. You must register through the link we provide. Food considerations: We will provide a light breakfast. If you have special dietary needs, please make arrangements to bring your own. Special Considerations: We will be conducting a brief 20 minute hands-on activity in the outdoors. Please be prepared with your own sun and insect protection. Please avoid flip-flop footwear. Cancellation policy: The costs of these workshops are completely subsidized by the San Antonio River Authority and are valued over $200 per person. In order to continue to offer such valuable workshops for free to public school teachers, please withhold your registration until you are certain you can attend. If you need to cancel, please do so as soon as possible and through the Eventbrite system and email Carrie Merson at [email protected] so a teacher that is on the wait list can be notified of the empty slot immediately. This allows other educators the opportunity to participate and SARA the ability to continue free programming.
