Pit Row Group now offers classes taught by transportation industry experts at multiple locations across the United States to become certified as a Pilot Car Driver, also known as a Pilot Escort Vehicle Operator. The WA State P/EVO Certification is recognized by 12 out 13 states currently requiring Certification. Becoming a certified pilot car gives you more options for your job and career. We offer first-hand knowledge and over-the-road training in our classrooms. Our training focuses on Washington State's most important elements of being a pilot car driver, including: TERMS & DEFINITIONS RELATED TO OS/OW MOVEMENT - ROLES & RESPONSIBILITIES OPERATOR/VEHICLE/EQUIPMENT REQUIREMENTS - VEHICLE POSITIONING - IDENTIFYING & OBTAINING NECESSARY DOCUMENTATION/INSURANCE - SAFETY PROCEDURES FOR MOVEMENT & EMERGENCY/BREAKDOWN SITUATIONS - TECHNIQUES FOR SUCCESSFUL COMMUNICATION & TEAMWORK ​**DID YOU KNOW THAT PILOT CAR DRIVERS THAT ARE WA STATE P/EVO CERTIFIED CAN ALSO PERFORM FLAGGER DUTIES!** Certification Requirements To be certified with the state of Washington, the student must: have a valid Driver's License that they will need to bring the day of class attend an 8 hour instructor led course pass the certification exam with a score of 80% or better Availability​ To Search by Date: Check the calendar to see the next date available and then to find the location by clicking on the date you would like to attend. To Search by Location: See the map below and click on the pin for turn by turn directions KEEP IN MIND: WA State limits Pit Row to 30 students per class so due to the high demand for seating; only paid in full students will be added to the class roster and guaranteed seating in the class. Additionally, due to the time requirement; class begins at 8:00 AM. If you are late, you will need to reschedule for another class date. We advise that you submit your payment as quickly as possible because until you are paid in full the seat remains available and arrive early to avoid any delays! CLASS REGISTRATION The cost of certification is $299 per student. We accept credit/debit cards, cash, certified funds (cashier's check and/or money order), OR paypal. (We do not accept personal checks) To pay via debit/credit card/paypal, there is a 5% processing fee bringing the total cost per student to $313.95.
