Join the Chicago Conscious Closet Club and Chicago Fair Trade in person or virtually for a panel discussion featuring local thrifters. Celebrate National Thrift Shop Day with a panel discussion featuring some of our favorite local thrifters! Topics will include thrifting best practices, tips, tricks, and why thrifting is an excellent choice when building your conscious closet. Fully vaccinated participants can join us in person at the 2112 Chicago co-working space, where light snacks and beverages will be provided; or, join us virtually via Zoom (link to follow). Agenda 6:30-7:00 PM: in-person participants arrive and mingle 7:00-7:45 PM: panel discussion 7:45-8:00 PM: audience Q&A with our panelists Chicago Fair Trade (CFT) is the largest fair trade coalition in the USA, comprised of a dedicated base of member businesses, educational institutions, congregations, non-profit organizations, and individual activists. CFT increases support for economic and environmental justice through consumer education,advocacy, and promotion of local fair trade businesses. CFT is proud to be a local and national leader in raising awareness about and building support for fair trade and its principles of environmental sustainability, ethical production methods, fair wages, and safe working conditions.​ The Chicago area has a thriving fair trade economy, unmatched anywhere in the United States. We boast more than fifty fair trade businesses, and our numbers are growing every day. By partnering with entrepreneurs, consumers, and activists, we can use our buying power for good and help this economy of empowerment continue to grow and thrive.
