Please join us for a farm demonstration on the benefits of intercropping and cover cropping. *VETERAN ONLY EVENT
Farmer Veteran Coalition is collaborating with McGrath Family Farms to introduce cover cropping and intercropping to farmer veterans. Come learn how these practices can improve soil health and water infiltration, while reducing soil erosion and weed pressure.
The event will kick off with a presentation at the Ventura County Ag Commissioners office, were attendees will get an overview of the techniques and learn about resources to help effectively implement them. Attendees will then take a short drive to McGrath Family Farms to view these conservation practices in action.
This event is free, must be a member of FVC. FVC membership is free, you can sign up at https://farmvetco.org/membership/. If you have any questions please email Isa Marie McIntyre at [email protected]
Farmer Veteran Coalition is a national non-profit that mobilizes veterans to feed America. We develop viable employment and meaningful careers through the collaboration of the farming and military communities. This is rooted in our strong belief that veterans possess the unique skills and character needed to strengthen rural communities and create sustainable food systems, and that agriculture offers veterans purpose, opportunity, and physical and psychological benefits. Through this military-to-agriculture movement sweeping the country, we cultivate a new generation of farmers and food leaders.
