September 18th at Fort DeSoto Park. The day includes ferry to/from Egmont Key, lunch at Fort Desoto, guest speaker, crafts and meditation.
We will be meeting at 9:30 AM at Bay Pier, Hubbards Marina, inside Fort DeSoto to board the Ferry to Egmont Key . The boat is scheduled to leave at 10am . Snorkeling the ruins is sold separately and is not guaranteed. Have $15 in cash if snorkeling is something you are interested in. Know that this is up to the boat captain.
The interior of the Island has a Fort dating back to the Spanish American war era “Fort Dade” for you to explore. Please pack as you are going to the beach; sun block, towels, water and a snack. The Island is also a natural preserve, home to many sea birds and gopher tortoise. We will depart Egmont Key at 12:30 for the main land.
We have a shelter reserved to relax and enjoy a catered lunch. After lunch we will be treated to a guest speaker as well as two craft stations. You will leave with a Hand Painted Mandala Stone and a Scented Eye Pillow . Ending the day with a meditation ceremony.
Huddle in the Harbor has created this unique fundraiser to explore the beauty of FL those may not have seen and the excitement of an adventure off the beaten path. All proceeds raised go towards our Education Scholarship Program. Our goal for the Fall is to grant 2 young women with $1,000 towards college expenses.
