Deck Collapse Injures 8 In Ferndale, Including 2-Year-Old

FERNDALE, MD — A portion of a deck gave way at a Ferndale home Sunday, injuring a total of eight people, Anne Arundel County Fire Department officials said. Two of the injured were taken to Maryland Shock Trauma for treatment; six others suffered minor injuries and were treated at Baltimore Washington Medical center, authorities said. Those hurt in the collapse ranged in age from 2 to 63 years old. The fire department said on its Twitter feed that a section of the about 6-feet by 6-feet collapsed in the 400 block of Wistful Vista Court. Authorities have not released the names of those injured or their conditions.
