Putting together a new band with a focus on funk and soul. Enjoy the deep cuts from artists like Anne Peebles, Staple singers, Betty Wright, Clarence Carter, Candi Staton, Dr. John, The Meters...Stax, Muscle shoals, and New Orleans influences. Also love the Scary Pockets YouTube channel. If you enjoy playing greasy soul and funk this would be a good fit. We're looking for someone who's experienced and also a good hang. Our goal is to perform covers and originals. We have a great lead vocalist who also writes lyrics. Right now we have a core group and are just missing a guitar player and horn player(s). Doing this for fun, friendship, and love of the music. That said, regular paid gigs are a goal. I have a rehearsal space at my place in NE minneapolis.
