Great Daisy Fund Passing this along for my brother, who is a hard working career firefighter and a loving dog dad. Daisy is his big Great Dane baby, he will do absolutely anything for her. Please go to the GFM website & search: help-daisy-with-her-medical-bill "At the end of June Daisy became suddenly and severely ill and within hours of showing symptoms she was so ill that my son took her to the emergency room at U.C. Davis animal hospital, the best animal care facility in northern California. The doctors said they felt a large mass in her abdomen and they told my son it was probably cancer and that he may want to consider putting her down since the diagnostics, treatment and surgeries, without guarantees, would be expensive. My son wasn't having that! So he immediately told them to do what it takes to save Daisy, after all she is "family blood". The doctors made sure he realized it could cost upwards of ten to twelve thousand dollars with no guarantees since they still didn't know what the mass was or how much damage it had done or even if it was operable, they needed to start with a CT Scan. So Daisy's medical bills began to mount right away. Daisy was in the hospital for over week. She had surgery and the entire family was so relieved when the surgery went well. The doctors said the mass was a fluid filled cyst that had also burst in her abdomen so they had to open her up more and clean all the debris from there. The good news was that, although they had to wait for pathology to come back to be sure, they didn't think it was cancer, that was later confirmed. But after surgery Daisy wouldn't eat so she remained in the hospital several extra days, keeping us all worried still until she finally started to improve. She's at home now recovering with family and we are all grateful. Unfortunately my son now faces paying over ten thousand five hundred dollars($10,500.00) in medical bills. Any help with Daisy's medical bills would be forever appreciated."
