Looking for an elderly companion

Neutered and declawed male tabby cat looking for a home preferably without younger kids. He's a great cat. Someone dropped him off in our neighborhood right before Thanksgiving 2020 and we've been caring for him since. He was posted on multiple sites and I've been waiting it out and avoid taking him to the shelter in fear he might end up stuck there, but he needs a new home as we don't have the means to care for him permanently. He does well with our cats and small dogs as long as they're calm. He does well with my toddler but he can get short tempered sometimes and just not want to be bothered and tends to bite if messed with once he tries to get away and younger kids don't understand that so it's more of a precaution for them. Other than that he's well mannered and behaved. He likes to eat, he begs, likes to be asked if you can pet him (that usually helps determine what mood he's in).
