IMMEDIATE NEED -- To start as soon as Monday, July 19, 2021.
Marine Taxonomic Services (MTS) is an environmental consulting firm committed to providing innovative solutions to help our clients create valuable scientific knowledge while growing their business in a sustainable manner. MTS projects are selected and implemented to manage the condition of our natural resources through the procurement of scientific data. Founded in 1980 and incorporated in 1993, MTS is a certified small business with offices in San Diego, California; Corvallis, Oregon and South Lake Tahoe, California.
Candidates will be hired as subcontractors and paid a daily rate.
Work schedule includes 40 hours/week. Work in excess of 40 hours/week and/or 10 hours/day may be required to complete project deadlines, including weekend shifts.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
· Participate in an aquatic invasive plant control project.
· Assist SCUBA divers while working on boats, from shore, and while wading.
Professional Requirements and Certifications
REQUIRED
· Clean driving record and ability to pass a background security clearance
· Ability to perform heavy lifting (50+ pounds)
· Ability to perform strenuous physical activity, work in wet and cold conditions, and work extended hours. This is a physically demanding and mentally taxing project in the outdoors. Field work can, at times, be tedious.
· Ability to be both self-directed/work alone, and be a positive, contributing member of a group.
