The NYC Sports Entertainment organization is pleased to offer our all-inclusive one day Equestrian Polo Immersion experience Have you ever seen a polo match and wondered what it takes to play Polo? Now you can learn how to play and experience a day in the life of a Polo player. Join NY Adventure Club for an exclusive day trip to the Meadowbrook Polo Club— originally opened in 1879, this historic complex on Long Island is the birthplace of Polo in America; and has some of the greatest Polo players in residence. Led by playing member George Fox and club staff, our unique experience will include a full day of activities that include a Two Hour Workshop and Two Hour Polo match. The Experience 1. Coffee, Bizcochos and Dulce de Leche 2. Introductions and course manuals will be provided. 3. “classroom style” to the history of Polo including the sports origins, how it came to the United States and started on Long Island, places in New York City where Polo was played that you can look for and visit. 4. Walk on and around the Polo Field, the largest playing surface in all of sport, history of the field! 5. taught the basics of Polo which include player positions, equipment needed, rules of play, how to hold the mallet, the fashion of players and spectators. 6. "ground" match and ball hitting with polo mallets. You will learn how to hit the ball during play. 7. Access to the Polo field while being set up 8. Hour with the grooms and Polo Ponies. See how the ponies and players "tack up" for a match. 9. History of Polo Ponies and shown different types. You will get to see them live! 10. You will see the polo ponies be “tacked up” and will meet the players for that day’s match. 11. VIP area to watch that days Polo match. 12. Afternoon refreshments (finger sandwiches, assorted fruits, and sparkling beverages.) 13. Game day Polo ball raffle and post-game Quiz for prizes (no cost - just for the fun of it) 14.
