Colonial Day is a family-friendly event for history lovers at the home of Robert Townsend, a member of Washington's Culper Spy Ring
Step into the past at our seventh annual Colonial Day! Join us for a family-friendly afternoon for history lovers as Raynham Hall is filled with costumed colonial adult and child re-enactors who bring the 18th Century to life with period music, colonial cooking demonstrations, and musket firings! The Order of the Ancient and Honorable Huntington Militia, founded in 1653, will encamp on the grounds of the museum, immersing visitors in the life and military world of our Revolutionary forebears.
FREE and open to the public. Food will be available for purchase.
The mission of Raynham Hall Museum is to enable visitors to the nearly 300-year-old Townsend family home in Oyster Bay to experience what it meant to be prominent merchants and heroic patriots, and to become engaged in the worlds of espionage, domestic life, and the decorative arts.
