Instructor will present an overview of the mechanics of a derailleur; proper installation and adjustments for smothand accurate shifting. Instructor will present an overview of the mechanics of a derailleur; proper installation onto the frame; initial cable installation; how to use limiting adjuster screws and barrel adjusters. A discussion of troubleshooting shifting issues involving alignment, cables, housing, and chains is included. Time will be allowed for participants to do adjustments on their own bike or a donation bike. Although shifters are intimately related to derailleurs we will not be focused on troubleshooting shifter specific problems.
