Chess tournament played over the board in an outdoor setting 3-rounds of G: 85 minutes with 5-second delay. Beginner sections has 4-rounds of Game 45 minutes with 5-second delay. Entry fee: $30 Prize money based on number of entries. Morning and outdoor over-the-board chess tournament at SteelCraft Garden Grove. Participants, players and visitors, will be asked to sign a waiver form prior to joining and to wear masks at all times while playing and in the playing area. Hand sanitizers will be provided at each board and disposable gloves are available. Bring your own tournament-regulation plastic set if available. Registration starts at 9 AM with rounds at 9:30 am, 1:00 pm, and 4:00 pm (if rounds finish early, we can start the next rounds earlier.) (Beginner section will have the following round times 9:30 am, 11:00 am, 1:00 pm, and 2:30 pm. If all the players finish the round early, the next game may be played earlier than the time indicated.) Venue: SteelCraft Garden Grove 12900 S Euclid St, Garden Grove, CA 92840 (Free Parking) Please note that masks must be worn at ALL TIMES and we ask players to wash your hands before and after each round. If you experience any sickness on the day of the tournament, please do not come in. Send us an email and we will give a full refund. The venue also has a strict no outside food and drinks policy except for water bottles. We encourage supporting the vendors at the venue by purchasing food and drinks on site. Coffee vendor will be open starting at 7 am and food vendors will start opening from 11 am onwards. ChessPalace is a chess club in the Orange County, California area. We are located at 5246 Lampson Ave. Garden Grove, CA near where the 405 freeway and the 22 freeway intersect. We host chess tournaments, offer classes and lessons, and sell chess books and merchandise.
