Description

Been running this ad under a different title. Musically not really at all like Jake Smith / The White Buffalo but that type of voice would work great over what I'm doing... Looking for more relatable, personal songs (not just songs about bandits etc.. lol) but vocally tracks like "The Whistler" "Border Town/Bury Me in Baja" "Widow's Walk" "Joey White" "River of Love and Loss" the way he sings on those is pretty awesome (just Spotify The White Buffalo and the the song title for reference) As for me, here is the ad I’ve been running: I am a guitarist that comes from a harder rock background but have been wanting to do something a bit different. I play 7 string acoustic guitars (added low B string) and for this project at least at the onset, would like to keep it acoustic. Aside from the fact I like to think I write cool sounding, (not cheesy but I know what a hook is) original music. I think the 7 string lower register will set this project apart as I've heard very few lower register acoustic projects. Right now I'm just looking for the voice and once we click and create some music we can look into assembling a few more musicians (drums, bass etc...). I have lots of pieces of music (verse – chorus type stuff) and riffs but purposely have avoided writing "full songs" because I want this to be a collaboration from the ground up. Singer / vocal wise, Looking to write relatable, memorable tunes but MOST importantly someone that isn't scared to write and sing from the heart and be themselves! As for what I’m currently writing, it’s all over the place and ranges from super mellow to rockin! The more rockin stuff tends to have some attitude and bite and the mellower stuff tends to be on the darker/down side but the main concept I’d like for this project, sad, happy anything in between, go with whatever comes out that’s good, no boundaries. I'm in my 30’s and have been playing music my entire life. I've put albums out on labels, toured the country extensively and done the whole thing. I work very hard and would love to take this as far as it can go but am over the rat race of "trying to make it." With that said I still do and will continue to put my all into every part of the music and band but want to avoid the “we need to to make it blah blah blah” conversations and the disappointment that tends to go with it when things don’t go in that direction. I would love to play locally (bay area/norcal) wherever we can as being acoustic you can setup and perform relatively easy and anywhere but of course, if given the opportunity to expand I’m ready to go where the music takes us! If this sounds even a bit interesting, hit me up! What can it hurt? lol Please send a little about yourself, where you live, age and some examples of some of your past work, I’d be happy to send you examples of what I’ve been working on and see where it goes! Bottom line, no egos, no rockstar dreams, just music from the heart. Thanks! I’m in Petaluma...
