Carbon Monoxide Poisoning Kills 2 Tyngsboro Women: Police

TYNGSBORO, MA — Two women found dead in a Tynsgboro home late Saturday morning were apparent victims of carbon monoxide poisoning. Tyngsboro Police Chief Richard Howe said the women were found inside their home on Mascuppic Trail about 10:45 a.m. Specialized devices worn by Tyngsboro firefighters detected "dangerous" levels of carbon monoxide in the building. Firefighters immediately then ventilated the home after registering the dangerous levels. One of the victims was 91 years old and the other was 38. Police said they were called to the house for a report of the two women being unresponsive. Their names were not yet released Saturday pending notification of relatives. Howe said National Grid was at the home Saturday afternoon trying to identify the cause of the high carbon monoxide levels. Howe said the deaths are being investigated but that "foul play is not immediately suspected.
