On this walking tour, we will experience the past, present and future of this iconic Detroit area. *REQUIRED: A mask, a fully charged phone, and a pair of headphones compatible with your mobile device. Although the Model T was famously produced off Woodward Avenue in Highland Park, the birthplace and ideation of the Model T happened right in Detroit's New Center and Milwaukee Junction neighborhoods. On this walking tour, we will experience the past, present and future of this iconic Detroit area, going back in time with a visit into the Piquette Plant itself and speak with the innovators who now call these neighborhoods home. Stops include: Ford Piquette Plant Milwaukee Junction neighborhoodThe Fisher BuildingWoodward Retail Corridor and other new developmentsTotal Walking Distance = ~2 miles Meeting Place: Public greenspace across the street from Techtown Entrance on Burroughs St. This tour series is generously sponsored by MotorCities Automotive Heritage Area. The tour guide will be wearing a royal blue Detroit Experience Factory t-shirt Please allow yourself a sufficient amount of time to find parking and arrive at the location. Very limited free on-street parking available plus paid secure lots and metered on-street parking. COVID PRECAUTIONS: Masks are required to attend this experience. In order to adhere to social distancing guidelines, we will be utilizing Zoom technology throughout the tour.
