PEABODY, MA — These Peabody students were among those recently earning academic or athletic distinction at colleges and universities across the nation. Lydia McGinn was named to the Dean's List at Hamilton College for the spring 2021 semester. To be named to the Dean's List, a student must have carried throughout the semester a course load of four or more graded credits with an average of 3.5 or above. McGinn, a rising senior majoring in art history and French and francophone studies, is a graduate of Pingree School. Nathaniel Jorgenson was named to the Dean's List at Rochester Institute of Technology for the 2021 spring semester. Jorgenson is in the bioinformatics and computational biology program. Emerson College awarded more than 950 undergraduate degrees and more than 470 graduate degrees for the Class of 2021 on May 2 at Fenway Park during its 141st commencement exercises, and virtually on May 9. The College also honored the Class of 2020 graduates in an additional ceremony at Fenway Park on May 2. Erica Petrillo received a BA in Media Arts Production. The following Peabody students have been named to Emerson College's Dean's List for the spring 2021 semester: Caroline Elliott — Business Creative Enterprises, Class of 2022. Aaron Homem — Media Studies, Class of 2023. Alexander Serino — Theatre Edu and Performance, Class of 2024. William J. Ryan graduated Magna Cum Laude from Western New England University with a BSBA in Business Analytics & Information Management. Shelby McKie earned Dean's List honors at The University of Tampa for the spring 2021 semester. Students must maintain a GPA of 3.75 or higher to be eligible for the dean's list. Theodore Curtin graduated from Ithaca College with a BM in Jazz Studies. Courtney A. Kline was among more than 1,875 students named to The University of Scranton's Dean's List for the 2021 spring semester. The Dean's List recognizes students for academic excellence. A student must have a grade point average of 3.5 or better with a minimum number of credit hours during the semester to make the Dean's List. Kline is a sophomore criminal justice major in the University's College of Arts and Sciences. Springfield College recognized the following Peabody 2021 graduates: Macayla LaChance earned a Doctor of Physical Therapy degree in Physical Therapy. Amanda Molle earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Sport Management. Springfield College concluded its 2021 Commencement Weekend ceremonies with eight separate in-person ceremonies at Stagg Field on the Springfield College main campus, four on May 15 and four on May 16. Ithaca College student Amanda Lewis was named to the Dean's List for the spring 2021 semester. Lexie Zammer earned a Bachelor of Science degree at the Curry College commencement exercises on May 23. Curry announced that Deanna DiNush was inducted into Pi Lambda Theta (PLT), one of the nation's most prestigious education honor societies. Founded in 1910, Pi Lambda Theta has a mission to honor outstanding educators and inspire their leadership on critical education issues. The most selective society of its kind, PLT extends membership to students and professionals who satisfy academic eligibility requirements and have demonstrated characteristics of scholarship, leadership, and service. In order to qualify for Pi Lambda Theta at Curry College, a student must be an Education major who has earned at least 60 credits with a minimum 3.5 GPA. Inducted students have exceeded the stringent criteria set by the honors society and demonstrate promise in the field of education. Curry also announced that Brittney DiNush was inducted into Sigma Beta Delta, the International Honor Society in Business, Management, and Administration. Sigma Beta Delta was established in 1994 and its mission is to encourage and recognize scholarship and accomplishment among students of business, management, and administration, and to encourage and promote aspirations toward personal and professional improvement and a life distinguished by honorable service to humankind. Sigma Beta Delta was established to honor students who have attained superior records in business programs in schools and colleges with regional accreditation. Curry College has been a charter member of Sigma Beta Delta since 2001. In order to qualify for Sigma Beta Delta at Curry College, a student must be either a Business Management or Accounting major who has earned a minimum of 60 credits from Curry and ranks in the upper 20 percent of their class. Kathryn DiGiulio was named to the President's List at Plymouth State University. More than 1,451 students were named to the spring 2021 Dean's List at the Colleges of the Holy Cross. Those included Peabody students: Joie Dillon, majoring in Chemistry. Samuel Silvestro, majoring in Political Science.
