Description
Here's our situation:
We are moving to Germany for a two-year assignment. We have two (1 year old) kittens to take with us.
To bring a cat to Germany they need a rabies vaccine (check) and a microchip (check).
BUT Germany requires that the microchip number be written on the rabies certificate. So, the rabies vaccine they had just days before getting their microchips inserted does not count and they needed to get another one. Our kits are eligible to fly August 4, but we depart July 27.
So now we are trying to figure out how to get them over to us. We figured we try crowd-sourcing this.
If you are flying to Germany (Frankfurt, Cologne, Dusseldorf, or other; Condor flies direct SEA-FRA) sometime after August 4, might you be willing to take one of our kits with you in the cabin? We will pay the cat's costs and try to sweeten the deal for you, too. It's complicated because different airlines have different carriers, and there are health certificates and timing issues involved (we are in Alaska, but this might work best with them flying from Seattle), so we'll need to do some coordinating with you in advance to get everything set. Since in general one passenger can take just one cat, we are looking for two volunteers. If you will be heading to Germany in coming months (anytime after August 4) and are open to flying with a sweet little cat, please let us know.
Thank you for reading this and considering!
