Description

Press release from the San Antonio Chamber of Commerce - News: July 16, 2021 We called and you answered! Your Chamber asked you to take action to protect the H2-B Program. On Thursday, July 15, the Appropriations Committee finalized Congressman Cuellar's "Returning Worker Exception Act" and language that would have made it difficult for employers to use the H2-B visa was removed!    The H2-B Visa Program specifically applies to non-agricultural seasonal jobs in areas such as hospitality, landscaping and construction which are currently contending with real and concerning labor shortages. The employees who fill these jobs help many of our member businesses accomplish their work and they contribute to strengthening the San Antonio economy. Thanks to your advocacy, our region will continue to have an available workforce to meet our employers' needs.   Thank you for your attention to and help with this important issue!   For more information, please contact Stephanie Reyes, VP of Public Policy at [email protected] of by phone at 210.299.2162.  This press release was produced by the San Antonio Chamber of Commerce - News.
