Wanted: Percussionist/drummer/Cajon player

Meets

Arvada CO

Description

Here's what we are: 1) Young people in our 40's & 50's. 2) Just started playing together. We're focusing on primarily covers but we'll be open to originals later. 3) We are 3 people - a female singer - a male singer/guitarist/bassist - a male singer/guitarist/drummer/bassist/keyboardist 4) Obviously we're more driven to cover songs that we love and grew up on - 70's, 80's & 90's stuff. But always love finding new stuff that we connect with. 5) We focus on vocals. All three of us sing lead and backups. It's a priority. If you can sing as well, then GREAT! You can sing lead and backups as well. What we're looking for: 1) A Mumford and Sons type situation. A drummer that at times might play a fuller kit, then play hand percussion, then possibly play your other instrument, or just sing. (I can play drums as well, so if you're a singer, then at times we can switch.) 2) We're an acoustic based band. We play cover alternative versions of metal songs, but not a lot of distortion at this time. 3) The songs we play, we'll change them up or mash them with other songs when possible. We're NOT interested in playing songs EXACTLY the same as the original. Although sometimes we do, but it's not our focus. 4) This should go without saying but women and men welcome. All ages and colors...except Native Americans! Or Polynesians! Yuck. Hate 'em both. (kidding, I'm Polynesian and Native.) Some other things to consider: 1) We practice at this time in Arvada. 2) We all enjoy playing out for people, so that's the goal. Not to where it's controlling our lives, but where our friends and family have somewhere to go once or twice a month and watch us act like overweight bald rock stars. ** The one thing I HATE about Craigslist is that when people exchange their music clips, I find that most people hear just one thing and then pigeon hole the band as strictly and only that. My focus is chemistry. We meet, we see if we generally have a similar direction musically and then see if we can play and enjoy music together. The music the band plays will change and evolve with your involvement. We are so new that we're not committed to being something permanent. Give the process a chance. If not, then please don't respond and waste your time and mine. ** Thanks so much and hope to hear from you soon.
