AAA out of Yreka is not cool. Do not join AAA. I have been a Premier member with uninterrupted service since 2009. My 2018 Silverado needed a tow today. I called AAA branch number 2005 that services our area at 3:58pm because my truck died and needed a tow to a repair shop. AAA assured me they’d have a tow truck out in less than two hours. At a little over 4 hours later 8:20 I called AAA back and they told me all the local towing companies turned down the call. AAA never informed me. I sat along the road for over 4 hours with my kids in the heat. Luckily I carry a cooler with ice and bottles of water due to the heat in the summer months. Yes I will be canceling my Long term membership with AAA and I strongly encourage you to consider doing the same. This could have been you and your family without the cooler, ice and water. I called a couple of local towing companies that claim they handle AAA. They informed me they do not like to take AAA discounted rates so therefore they turn down most of their calls. So I called a tow from Redding and elected to not have my truck towed locally or repaired locally. You are correct it does not pay to shop local!!!
