Press release from the Fremont Police Department: 07/16/2021 Report Number: 210716001 Location: 3300 block of Sylvester Drive., Fremont, CA Date/Time of Incident: July 16, 2021 at 12:33 AM A juvenile suspect has been arrested for the death of his mother and attempt homicide of his father, in an early morning stabbing incident. Today, July 16, 2021 at 12:33 a.m. Fremont patrol officers were dispatched to a residence near the area of Paseo Padre Parkway and Fremont Boulevard to investigate a stabbing. Responding officers arrived and located an unconscious adult woman and a conscious adult man, both suffering from visible stab wounds. Officers immediately attempted trauma care on the woman, but sadly she was pronounced deceased at the scene by paramedics. The man sustained several serious injuries and was transported to a trauma center for care where he has been stabilized. Officers learned the suspect was the 14-year-old son of the two victims. A perimeter was quickly established in the area, with mutual aid called in from Newark and Union City Police Departments. Within approximately 30 minutes of searching the area, Fremont Dispatch received a call from a resident, approximately a mile away from the scene, advising a juvenile covered in blood was located. Officers quickly rushed to the scene and safely detained the juvenile. Fremont Detectives took over the scene and this investigation remains active. Detectives continue to seek answers and further details regarding a possible motive will not be released at this time. Additionally, the suspect is a juvenile and under California law (Welfare and Institutions Code 827 and 828), his identity will not be made public.
