QUINE LESSON EDUCATION ASSISTANT MANAGER WHO WE ARE: The goal of our team is to teach and promote natural horse training methods in the traditional horse world. Our approach applies to any equestrian discipline and creates happy, polite, confident horses around the barn, on the trail and in the ring. DESCRIPTION: An organized people -person who will manage and participate in and with the personnel, plans, processes, and team schedules of our developing program. The main areas of focus include: people management, education/curriculum design, program growth, content creation, asset management, and event activation. This onsite position is located at our 80-acre equestrian facility in Poway, CA. The Program Manager will ensure that the Director’s ideas and initiatives are executed in a timely manner with high quality, and supervise the individuals on the team to encourage participation and accountability. Key Responsibilities -Onsite management of a small team (less than 10) staff members. -Support the educational curriculum development of the Lessons for the Academy and Trail rides at Poway Equestrian Center. -Partner with the outside PR firm and team to produce content for website and other outreach opportunities. -Produce and manage digital content assets, which includes: taking, tagging, and uploading video and photo assets into the an online system. -Oversee and manage all aspects of events. -Take Director’s objectives/key results and create a plan of execution which includes things such as: timeline creation, coordination of schedules, and expectations for each tactic/deliverable(s); communicate frequently with Director on all tasks -Provide accountability and structure for all projects; create meetings, check-ins, or any other necessary systems to keep individuals on task and productive as the team expands -Create an efficient way to capture all project details and record keeping electronically; ensure information flow is clear and well-organized. -Proactively resolve conflict and maintain a positive team dynamic to create win-win scenarios whenever possible that model a positive reinforcement philosophy. -Develop ongoing project communication (i.e. a weekly status document) that delivers the key results of the team; determine the appropriate cadence to keep everyone informed and motivated. -Manage scheduling conflicts, competing agendas, or anything that will interfere with getting the necessary program tasks completed; determine with Director’s guidance if additional resources are needed or if timing must shift -Help coordinate the recruitment and hiring of additional team members Necessary Skillset -Great communicator (written, oral, and remote) -Collects, maintains and prepares documents and records including but not limited to release forms, fee payments, lesson attendance, rider progress, horse health and behavior, and facilities/premises safety. -Monitors/trains seasonal staff/volunteers in existing work methods/proper use of materials/equipment to ensure conformance with PEC standards; provides safety training. -Coordinates stable events, assists in development/implementation of recreational programs; provides assistance/information to the general public. -Ability to develop and lesson plans, events and programs. -Ability to schedule, assign and prioritize work. -Ability to plan, direct, and coordinate the work of seasonal staff/volunteers. -Ability to effectively communicate orally and in writing. -Ability to collect information, maintain accurate records and prepare reports. -Educate, empower and motivate barn staff to ensure retention of a talented productive team. This will include helping conducting annual performance evaluations with a concentration on each team member’s development and growth. -Excellent attention to detail -Enjoys developing and brainstorming ideas in an iterative process -Ability to take high-level initiatives and come up with tactical, action plans -A self-starter who is able to create solutions when conflicts arise and manage priorities effectively -Terrific interpersonal skills and high emotional intelligence; experience managing and motivating a team -Collaborative; ability to align both individual and program goals -Organized and efficient; ability to navigate multiple projects and schedules simultaneously -Experience using project management tools. -Provide administrative leadership to faculty -Encourage and support students -Ensure company curriculum and education policies and procedures are followed -Recruit, select and train new instructors -Assist faculty with driving retention and completion rates -Maintain facility integrity Additional Criteria -Proven program/project oversight that includes people management experience. -On-site, indoor and outdoor position (remote work not possible) -Must have physical ability to walk around expansive horse barn property with largely unpaved surfaces, up to 3 miles per day -Comfortable in and around horses and barn setting. Safety protocols must be followed at all times, including safe, closed toe footwear per barn regulations. -Reports to Director multiple times throughout the day. Qualifications Previous experience in a leadership role appreciated · Must possess effective communications skills · A positive attitude, willingness to go above and beyond for guests and a sense of humor are appreciated · Equine experience required -High School diploma or equivalent required -Minimum 3 years’ experience in an Administrative or Instructional setting -Excellent communication, interpersonal and team-building skills -Organizational skills with the ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment -Results-oriented -Heavy lifting (must be able to lift 75 lbs.) · Able to work outside in all elements · Able to work flexible and demanding hours · Must be able to walk on various terrain A criminal background check is required.
