Long-term care is the service, support, or help you may need from others to complete non-medical, everyday tasks (getting dressed, bathing, eating, etc.) at some point in your life. Washington Cares Fund is a new Long-Term Care (LTC) program for eligible Washington residents. Beginning January 1, 2022, all Washington employers must withhold a new 0.58% payroll tax from their employee's wages ($5.80/$1000 earned) and there is currently no cap on the total amount to be withheld over a persons’ lifetime.
