This workshop is open to 4th-6th grade girls or people part of groups underrepresented in the STEM field, who are located anywhere since this will take place over Zoom. This FREE virtual engineering workshop will introduce the participants to basic engineering topics and do a fun hands-on activity to apply what they learned! For the hands-on Pom-Pom Launch activity, you will need to purchase materials: ⁃ 5 medium pom-pom balls or cotton balls (for launching) ⁃ 5 index cards (card stock paper also works) ⁃ 2 disposable drinking cups ⁃ 5 disposable drinking straws ⁃ 10 wooden popsicle sticks ⁃ 5 rubber bands ⁃ 24 inches of string ⁃ tape (unlimited) ⁃ safety scissors (for cutting materials) ⁃ ruler (for measuring launch distance) ⁃ pen/pencil/marker and paper (for drawing design) REGISTRATION/FLYER: MORE INFO:
