We are looking for an individual who can take a working dog home, handle their working dog to find bed bugs, perform bed bug treatments (both liquid and heat treatments), and learn the arts of general pest control. Experience is not required. People come to pest control from a variety of fields -- hospitality, warehouse, delivery, drivers, retail and more. Highland Eco Pest Control is locally owned, eco-friendly pest control company. We specialize in bed bug treatments, mosquito control, rodents and more. Beyond just being a nuisance, we understand that these pests can be a public health threat, so we are passionate about helping our customers solve these problems in the most effective ways possible. We are a small, close knit team, expanding quickly. Job Description Responsibilities and Abilities: Inspections of properties for pests Work with public and co-workers tactfully Ability to walk, bend, kneel, and drive for several hours per day Able to lift 65 + pounds Generate reports of inspection findings Generate service plans based on inspection findings and sell services for treatment teams Adjust to changes in workloads and assignments and work under stress of meeting deadlines You will also perform duties as a Heat Technician. We will train you to use powerful heaters and fans to kill bed bugs in homes and hotels. You will also be trained to perform Mosquito and General Pest Treatments and Liquid bed bug treatments. Working at Highland is never boring. One day you may be working alongside a canine to inspect dorm rooms, the next you might be working with a team to eliminate bed bugs in a hotel, and the next driving around to help homeowners with mosquito control. You’ll never be stuck behind a desk. You will have flexibility and autonomy. Requirements: Motivated to learn new things: We will train you in all aspects of pest control, and will expect you to take and pass your Pest Control Technician exams when you are ready. Solutions mindset: Pest control requires you to assess different problems everyday and come up with unique solutions to resolve problems for our clients. Strong customer service: Whether you are doing inspections or treatments, you will be expected to represent the company in a friendly and professional manner and should be able to sell clients additional services if desired. Physically fit: Heat jobs require the ability to lift 65 pounds to unload and set up equipment at job sites. The machines must at times be carried up several flights of stairs. Heat technicians must routinely enter into the heated space (135F) to make adjustments. Strong attention to detail: This job will require you to carefully apply chemical substances and keep very detailed records. Responsible Driver: No special driving certifications required, however, driver must have clean driving record. If you have a DUI or reckless driving charges, our insurance will not allow you to drive our vehicles. Must Love Dogs: We work alongside highly trained canines to provide specialized bed bug detection. You will be expected to work with and care for one of our canines. Flexible Hours: Availability to work a flexible schedule (between the hours of 7:00am and 6:00pm, Monday - Friday). Weekend work may occasionally be required especially in the summer busy season but extra compensations is provided for this. We will conduct criminal background check and driving record check on final round applicants prior to start date.
