Things ALWAYS look dark to cowardly conservatives

because they live in constant fear and want to retreat to the past. Things look much brighter to progressives because we believe that progress is the only way to make things better and we believe it's possible. Everything is dangerous to a conservative. Everything is possible to a liberal. I grew up in a conservative family and we were drilled from a very early age to FEAR God and that God was WATCHING US and just waiting for use to screw up so he could cast us into hell for eternity. It wasn't until I was in my late 30s and I read the Bible from cover to cover several times that I saw what a load of horseshit the Christian church of the 1960s and 70s was trying to pawn off on people to control them. The Bible talked about God's LOVE for humanity but all the church talked about was how angry God would be if we didn't do His bidding which was actually the churches' bidding.
