Come watch competing community health related startups pitch their products to potential customers! You're invited to the Innovation Showcase event for the NXTSTAGE Community Health Pilot Competition Presented by Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Kansas. This is the perfect occasion for community advocates, healthcare organizations, investors and entrepreneurs to take part in celebrating innovation that enhances our community's vibrancy. Here's a little about who we are and why we do this - The NXTSTAGE Pilot Competitions are a program of NXTUS, a 501c3 nonprofit whose mission is, in part, to accelerate innovation in Wichita as a means for sustainable economic growth. This Competition helps solve community health challenges by matching solution-oriented tech startups with organizations that seek to improve the health of the community. Here's how NXTSTAGE works - NXTSTAGE partners with community health organizations throughout Kansas who work with the public every day. We discover what types of challenges they are facing, then do a national search to find startups who offer solutions to those challenges. Out of 135 applicants, NXTSTAGE and the partner organizations select a group of finalists. These finalists then compete to get paid "pilot projects" from one of the partners. The costs of these paid pilots are covered by our sponsors, like Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Kansas. That brings us to this Innovation Showcase event - We culminate the competition in this final Innovation Showcase event. We bring all the startups to town, prep them to give their presentations, and host a "Shark Tank like" pitch competition where the live audience gets to see the startups pitch their potential customers over a delicious lunch in a beautiful setting.
