Full-time Airport Terminal Custodian $17.89 - $24.48 hourly (plus excellent benefits) The Monterey Regional Airport is seeking a qualified candidate to join its Maintenance Department. Under general direction, the successful candidate will provide preventative and corrective custodial services. Strong communications skills and the ability to interact with customers and staff are important to this position. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Duties and responsibilities Include the following, as well as other duties and responsibilities, which may be assigned. • Cleans floors and stairways, walls, drapes, blinds, furniture, and heat, light and air-conditioning fixtures. • Spot cleans floors, carpets, windows, mirrors, glass areas and walls. • Cleans and disinfects restroom fixtures, and drinking fountains. • Operates equipment and machinery used to clean various coverings. • Washes windows, and uses ladders and scaffolding equipment safely and properly. • Moves and rearranges furniture as directed. • Replenishes various restroom containers and dispensers. • Reports the need for repairs to supervisor. • Empties trash cans and replaces plastic liners. • Picks up litter from assigned areas. • Operates vehicles as needed to transport supplies, equipment, and/or trash. REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS: High School diploma or equivalent and two years of experience in custodial services experience in a commercial/industrial setting is required. SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS: Prior to employment, applicant must complete and/or provide all of the following: • Proof of eligibility to legally work in the United States. • Successful completion of background investigation. • Ability to pass the Airport's physical examination, including pre-employment testing in accordance with the Airport's drug/substance abuse policies. • Possess a valid California Motor Vehicle Driver's License. • Ability to complete examination to obtain Security Identification Display Area (SIDA) badge.
