Palm Springs Cultural Center presents our Annual Summer Concert Series, featuring Leanna & The Jazz Collective: A Live Jazz Performance. Leanna brings to the stage straight ahead Jazz, spiced with a bit of Bossa Nova & Latin Jazz, with some of the top jazz musicians in Southern California promising to be one of the best live jazz performances in Palm Springs this summer. Come in your Jazz finest. There will be a VIP Cocktail Reception upstairs at *6pm where you can mix and mingle with your fellow Jazz enthusiasts. Then at 7:00 pm join LEANNA AND THE JAZZ COLLECTIVE for an intimate, fun, jazz music concert. Featuring... Leanna Rodgers | vocals | Mark Massey | piano | Sam Montooth | bass | Ishmael Hunter | drums | Miguel Gomez | congas | Aaron Merc | sax | Concert will be held indoors / air conditioning. Artist Bio Leanna is an acclaimed entertainer in the Greater Palm Springs area holding residencies with her husband/conga player at V Wine Lounge, Hunters, The Roost Lounge, and at private events. Often described as the modern day Ricky & Lucy, they have also performed regularly at Mr. Lyons, Oscar's, Wangs in the Desert, JAX, The Greek 13, and private events, including the Frank Sinatra Estate with their jazz quartet. From opening the Playboy Jazz Festival at the Hollywood Bowl with a nationally award-winning jazz ensemble and performing at Birdland West, to lead vocalist for an eight piece Latin band in LA/OC dance venues, and lending her voice to recording sessions for film, television, and bands, studying with the top jazz musicians in SoCal, these experiences shaped Leanna's sound and deep appreciation for the art of jazz. She holds a BA Degree in Theatre Arts - Performance and Directing from Cal State Long Beach and is an award-nominated actress/vocalist having performed in many of the professional/regional theaters in the Valley and in SoCal. Leanna and Miguel relocated to Palm Springs in 2014, share 18 years of marital bliss, and are raising three wonderful kiddos together.
