DIY Tsukemono Kit Fundraiser benefiting Japantown Community Congress of San Jose and Yu-Ai Kai DIY Tsukemono Kit and 'How To' FundraiserLearn to make your own tsukemono and help to raise funds for Japantown Community Congress of San Jose and the Yu-Ai Kai Senior Center at the same time! Only 150 kits (75 for each day's pick-ups) available so order now! Pick-up of your kit will be at Yu-Ai Kai on Thursday, July 22nd or Friday, July 23rd. Thursday, July 22 & Friday, July 23 - 3:00-4:00pm (pick up kits)$20 per kit - includes kyuri, all pickling ingredients, recipe card, a 32oz. glass jar and reusable shopping bag to hold everything!Drive-thru pick-up will be at the Yu-Ai Kai’s main building. Please be sure to select the appropriate kit/ticket(s) when ordering - either July 22 or July 23.On sale NOW! Quantities are limited so order early! Shared funds with JCCsj will go towards the cleaning of the stone benches throughout Japantown, requiring special solvents and polishes, to support the foot patrols and other Japantown community needs. We offer a senior day care program, a well-balanced nutritious lunch service, social services, and a variety of classes, activities and trips for seniors, all designed to enable healthy aging. Serving our seniors with Friendship & Love since 1974,  Yu-Ai Kai currently serves 3,000+ seniors annually.  While our roots are in Japanese / Japanese American culture and tradition, the programs and services are open to any senior in our community.
