It's time to get back to school, and we have school supplies for children of single parents! Single Mom Strong is coming to LA! The nonprofit organization with a mission to empower single mothers and their children is expanding into South LA County/ North Orange County. Just in time for back to school, we have FREE school supplies for children of single moms! Single Mom Strong is fortunate to again be the beneficiary of Bank of The West's Backpack Drive. Register to receive one backpack per child (limit three per family, while supplies last) then meet us in front of Mother's Nutritional Center's Hawaiian Gardens location for pick-up. You will get to select age-appropriate items school supplies and backpacks including all the extras: scissors, glue, crayons, markers and more. While you're there, learn more about Single Mom Strong and all of the ways we empower single mothers and their children! The details: Backpacks MUST be picked up at this distribution event. Those that are not present for pickup will forfeit their right to a backpack or supplies. A short registration/ demographic form will be emailed to you prior to the event and MUST be completed to confirm registration. REGISTRATION IS NTO VALID UNTIL THE FORM IS COMPLETED. IT MUST BE COMPLETED IN ORDER FOR YOU TO PICK-UP YOUR SUPPLIES. There is no purchase necessary and no obligation.  All children of single mothers are welcome to receive this benefit. Thank you! Statistics shows that children of single mothers suffer in a variety of ways and the mothers often find themselves living in poverty and riddled with guilt or frustration. But, we are here to change the statistics.  We believe that single mothers and their children do not have to be negatively impacted by this circumstance. In fact, being "single-mom-strong: having grit and determination; refusing to fail", is not detrimental at all... Single Mom Strong exists for the empowerment of single mothers and their children through enrichment, encouragement and educational programs.  Funds raised are used to advance our mission. It is the mission of Single Mom Strong to create a community of single mothers and children in support of one another, while empowering them to be their best selves, through enrichment, encouragement and educational programs.
