Learn from other angel investors about how they add value to their investments.It is only through the start-up’s success that angel investors are successful. This personal symbiotic relationship is what sets angel investing apart from any other type of investing. Angel investors are often called on (or preemptively offer) to provide additional help, which can take many forms. This panel of women will discuss ways angel investors can add value to the founders and start-ups that they have chosen to invest in.Featured speakers include Diana Flotten, Sarah Pike, Angi Rassi, and Rachael Scherer; moderated by Stephanie Pierce. Diana FlottenAs a Product Team Lead at West Monroe, Diana is focused on understanding client needs then designing and building exquisite digital experiences. Having begun her career as a civil engineer, Diana has been solving problems for more than 20 years. Whether it’s an infrastructure or digital challenge, her approach is the same: understand user needs first and then design a solution that meets them. She has a bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering and minor in French from Washington University in St. Louis and an MBA from the University of Minnesota – Carlson School of Management. Sarah PikeSarah Pike is the Women’s Business Center Director at WomenVenture where she oversees the strategy and development of their training programs. Sarah has over 20 years experience working within economic and business development, which includes owning her own business, developing curriculum for MBA programs, and offering business assistance to cooperatively-owned enterprises. Sarah is leading the exploration of WomenVenture’s involvement into impacting investing. Angi RassiAngi Rassi is a growth accelerator, senior business leader, executive coach and innovator that is passionate about scaling high potential businesses. Angi has two decades of experience in the food industry as an officer at General Mills and most recently as the VP/Head of Innovation for John B Sanfilippo & Son. She is also an angel investor, Groove Capital advisor and ImpactSKU mentor. Rachael SchererRachael Scherer joined EPIQ Partners in 2020 as a Senior Advisor, extending a 40-year professional journey that has spanned equity capital markets, global corporate strategy, and governance. Her career began in institutional equity research at Dain Bosworth, where she eventually managed DBI’s healthcare practice. Rachael joined Medtronic in 1999 to lead Investor Relations and Corporate Strategy. Prior to her retirement from Medtronic in 2019, she held additional VP positions in Global Strategy and Business Development. Rachael holds a BA from St. Mary’s of Notre Dame and an MBA in Finance/Business Policy from the University of Chicago Booth School. Stephanie PierceStephanie Pierce is a passionate mom, wife, connector, and coach. After a 24-year career as a Corporate Executive in Engineering & HR, Stephanie re-invented her work life to bring her passion for building communities together with her strong HR expertise.
