Explore behind closed doors including attics, porches, and basements of both houses. Join us on the third Friday of the month from 7-8:30 pm to enjoy learning about various topics such as restoration, preservation, family stories, new discoveries in the research, Hackley House during the Red Cross and Hume as a Daycare Center, and future projects. Space is limited, so be sure to order your tickets quickly! When you arrive, check into the City Barn (carriage house) between the Hackley and Hume Houses. Free Parking on Webster Avenue & 6th Street Please arrive on time! The Hackley and Hume Historic Site tells the story of two men who used their business educations, work experiences, and natural talents to take advantage of lumbering opportunities in Muskegon and build vast fortunes. They not only worked together, but built homes on the same piece of land. The homes feature many original stained glass windows, exquisite wood carving, and period furnishings.
