Manchester's General Manager Scott Shanley Retires

MANCHESTER, CT — After spending 15 years as Manchester's general manager, Scott Shanley, officially retired from the job Thursday, according to Manchester Courant News. "Although we are happy for Scott to go on and enjoy the next chapter, we will miss his leadership in our community," Mayor Jay Moran recently told the newspaper. "Over the past 15 years, he has guided us through a long recession and now the COVID-19 pandemic." Shanley plans to be on call for two months after he leaves to help the board's chosen interim administrator. Prior taking on the role of Manchester's general manager, he spent nine years as the town manager for Enfield. He also previously served as an administrator for municipalities in Maine and Oregon.
