JEFFERSON COUNTY, CO — The Jefferson County Sheriff's Office is set to hold a DUI saturation patrol Saturday.
"Recent statistics indicate that DUI crashes are still in the top four causal factors for traffic related injuries and deaths in CO," the sheriff's office said in a tweet.
"IT IS NOT SAFE to drink and drive. We will be here if you need us."
Around 417 DUI arrests per 100,000 residents are made on average in Colorado, according to the law firm Friend, Levinson & Turner.
Saturation patrols — which ramp up the number of deputies across a county or jurisdiction — also catch other violations, such as uninsured drivers and speeding.
