EPD Arrests Fatal Hit And Run Suspect

By John Gibson, WNIN July 16, 2021 Evansville Police arrested 21-year-old Dylan Birdwell. EPD spokeswoman Anna Gray says Birdwell faces charges of voluntary manslaughter and leaving the scene of a fatal accident in the death of Patrick Adams in the 1300 block of Florence over the weekend. Witnesses told police Birdwell and Adams had been fighting and when Birdwell left the scene he ran over Adams with his SUV. Witnesses said Adams did not have a weapon and was not blocking Birdwell's path when he was hit. Adams later died at a hospital. Officers arrested Birdwell in the 1000 block of W.
