Description
MONTGOMERY, IL — In what village officials are calling a return to normalcy, the 36th annual Montgomery Fest will take place again this August with updated public health guidelines.
From August 13-15, residents can experience live music, carnival rides, food vendors and even a stunt show along the Fox River in downtown Montgomery.
The three-day schedule features a parade, car show, fireworks and a petting zoo. Free shuttle service will be provided into the fairgrounds from Lakewood Creek Elementary School and the U-Haul parking lot on Douglas Road from 11 a.m. to 10 p.m.
Officials said the event will cater to state public health guidelines by encouraging guests to bring their own chairs and spread out while watching shows and presentations. Since the event is outdoors, restrictions are much looser.
New additions to the long-standing festival include an updated layout so guests can face the Fox River and be in shaded areas as much as possible. The Fox Valley Park District and Oswegoland Park District will also offer free fitness classes in the nearby park on Saturday and Sunday mornings for the first time. And Sunday's BMX Stunt Show will premiere along with Touch A Fire Truck for younger festival goers to see the trucks up close.
A full schedule of events is kept up to date on the Village's website, montgomeryil.org. All events will take place at Montgomery Park on the corner of River and Mill Streets.
