Description

My name is Richie. I am moving from Las Vegas to Green Bay in Late August. I am looking to get started on hitting the ground running in GB asap. I am a guitarist (33 years old) who has been playing for 19 years and has had numerous experiences involving variety cover bands, original bands, duo, jam bands, jazz combos, big band and various studio experience. My skill set allows me to fit into just about any music situation where I am needed. I can transcribe and read basic charts as well, so learning songs is never an issue for me. I have well over 100 songs in my repertoire already for typical variety band material. I do take my music endeavors very seriously and am prepared to dedicate time to make them work. I have very professional gear and transportation and I am ALWAYS on time to gigs and rehearsals. I have a list of references if needed that can attest to my professional nature. I also have a professional PA for duo / trio settings as well. I am capable of recording promotion demos for whatever project we are promoting. All of this being said, I do work a day job M-F 6am-2:30pm. My goal would be to play out primarily on weekends as much as possible. I can handle week night gigs with notice to adjust my work schedule for the following morning. This would strictly be a secondary income for me. I am not looking to “tour” or travel for long periods of time unless the right opportunity presents itself. I have been playing and studying music for 19 years. I have taught private lessons at a guitar shop for 4 years. I have taught at the University of Wisconsin Green Bay (UWGB) guitar camp for 2 years. I taught a music mentor program for the Boys and Girls Club. I studied Jazz Guitar Performance for 2 years at UWGB, and 1 year at Northern Illinois University with Fareed Haque. My degree is in Urban and Regional studies, unfortunately not music, however have enough knowledge to easily have a music minor level of qualification. I know how to speak in a musical context so it is easy to convey my thoughts to other musicians who have this vocabulary. I am very professional, I read and respond to emails in a timely fashion, I text, and am ok with last minute changes. My ideal scenario would be joining a working band as sub as needed, or being a permanent member of a band who already has an active game plan of how to be successful. I am also open to acoustic duo / trio settings. Any cover project I participate in, would require the common goal to make great music, and money. Original projects I would consider would need to have a strong leader with a creative direction already in mind (with songs ready to go) also with the goal to make money on the side. I love variety band music, 60s-current, funk, disco, motown, classic rock, blues, hip-hop, R&B, soul, and anything like that. The only music genres I am not equipped to play would be hard rock / metal / punk. I don't hate those genres, it is just not something I am currently interested in. I have attached a few examples of my playing via youtube links. These are all fairly recent within the 2020 year. I work best with texts and emails. Please also send me your set list, recording examples / video links, or social media page so I can do my research as well. I don't need anything super professional, just need to get an idea of what you do. I will not be able to respond unless I have at least something to go off of. I can also send you my song list of covers I already have experience with. Thanks for your time!
