LOS ANGELES, CA — Three Southlanders were killed in a plane crash Thursday in northern California, the Humboldt County Sheriff's Department reported. A total of four died in the crash near Dinsmore Airport in Humboldt County, the sheriff's department reports. Steve Sanz, 63, Orange CountyHenry Punt, age 69, of Los Angeles CountyJacquie Ann Figg, age 56, of San Bernadino CountyKenneth John Malinowski, age 62, of Sacramento County All were inside the single-engine Mooney M20 that crashed at Dinsmore Airport in Dinsmore California shortly before noon, Thursday, the FAA spokesperson Ian Gregor tells Patch. It was not yet known who was flying the plane. Private water tenders arrived to quell the flames caused by the crash according to local media outlets. A total of four people were inside the plane when it crashed for reasons that remain under investigation, according to Gregor. The owner of the plane was not yet released. The National Transportation and Safety Board will be investigating the cause of the crash, along with the FAA. This report will be updated when more information is released.
