Press release from the Des Plaines Public Library: Wee Artistes 06.11.21 The June 12 Wee Artistes kit is inspired by artist Alexander Calder and his colorful, kinetic creations. Want to learn some more about his fascinating work? Good thing you came to the library! Our littlest art lovers can make a pipe cleaner sculpture in air-dry clay to have fun with the concept of kinetic art if they pick up a Wee Artistes kit starting June 12 (while supplies last).  These projects might spark a tiny light of curiousity that start the "how to" process of finding answers to questions through online resources, and DPPL has plenty!  Though our biography database on Gale in Context might be a little too meaty for our youngest readers, you can turn to the Britannica Library for Children as a resource and find a lovely entry about Calder.
