2 Ohio Companies Announce Layoffs In Mid-July

CLEVELAND — Two Ohio companies have announced mass layoffs in July, according to the Ohio Department of Jobs and Family Services. Compass Group lost its contract with Cleveland State University, so it is laying off 72 employees, the company said in a letter to the department. The layoffs will begin on approximately Sept. 7. TTEC Home is ceasing its operations nationwide. The company's shuttering will mean six Ohioans will lose their jobs in July. "All affected employees will receive either 60 days of wages and benefits in lieu of notice, 60 days' notice, or a combination of the two to ensure compliance with the WARN Act. All terminated employees will be paid all earned wages and applicable fringe benefits upon termination," the company said in its letter to the state.
