MOUNTAIN BROOK, AL — The Alabama Association for Gifted Children has named Kim Hutchens, the enrichment teacher at Cherokee Bend Elementary School, as "The Best of the Best."
Hutchens has spent six of her 25 years in education at CBS.
The award is part of a collection that recognizes excellence in gifted education professionals from around the state. Hutchens' recognition is specifically best of the best "Gifted Education Specialist."
Also recognized by the AAGC include awards such as Outstanding Administrator Award and Outstanding Gifted Coordinator Award, among others.
As part of the recognition, Hutchens will have the opportunity to share and discuss the topic of "what makes them special" at the AAGC's conference in October.
